As an artists’ book maker I have a lot of leftovers from trimming paper and card. One day I decided it would be interesting to expose a pile of those paper strips, which would normally get thrown away (recycled). So I loaded the pile onto the exposure unit and exposed a large screen. I printed the resulting stencil in black and cleaned off the screen. Then I removed a large part of the paper pile from the exposure unit, but left some of it on the glass. I exposed the screen again with the smaller pile. I printed it on top of the same prints in a lighter colour. Again I removed many of the paper pieces, and repeated the process, printing on top of the other two layers.
Offcuts 1 has three layers, whereas Offcuts 2 has four.
